Chisinau education institutions to be reorganized

At least two education institutions in Chisinau will be restructured during the 2009-2010 school year, sources from the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport have told Info-Prim Neo. According to them, the relevant commissions of the Chisinau Municipal Council have examined the draft decisions on the transformation of the Russian-teaching Sports Theoretical High School No.3 into the Romanian- and Russian-teaching Sports Theoretical High School. Also, the Pro Succes school, which is the only preuniversity education institution in the municipality of Chisinau that aims to include the children with disabilities in the environment of the secondary school, is to obtain the status of theoretical high school. The given training model meets the international standards in the field. There are 145 preuniversity education institution attended by 84,857 students in the municipality of Chisinau: 8 nursery schools, 11 – primary schools, 17 secondary schools (including two boarding schools), 27 general secondary schools, 74 high schools, 3 shift-based schools, and 5 special schools.
