Chisinau drivers will have traffic problems on August 24

Chisinau drivers will get around harder on the morning of August 24, as the streets on which the high officials will travel will be blocked for public traffic. According to an order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which came along with a disposition of the City Hall of Chisinau, “sites that will be allocated for the celebration of the Chisinau Liberation from fascist forces Day” will guarded by crews of the Road Police in order to “ensure the security of traffic and public order”. At 8:30 police officers will block traffic on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard for the government officials’ travel to the “Eternity” memorial. To assure the safety of travel, police posts will be situated on the intersection of Ştefan cel Mare-Sfatul Ţării, Ştefan cel Mare-Maria Cibotari, Ştefan cel Mare-Bănulescu-Bodoni, Bănulescu-Bodoni-Veronica Micle, Bănulescu-Bodoni-31 August, Bănulescu-Bodoni-Bucureşti, Bănulescu-Bodoni-Şciusev, Bănulescu-Bodoni-Mateevici, Mateevici-Puşkin, Mateevici-Vlaicu Pârcălab, Mateevici-Eminescu, Mateevici-Vasile Alecsandri, Mateevici-Parcului, Mateevici-Lacului, cinematograful Gaudeamus, Pan Halipa-Lomonosov. On the UN square, parking will be forbidden by a designated police crew, and on the Pan Halipa Street two police crews will make sure no vehicles are parked. The police will also see to the safety of the “Independence Cup” run and will be around the „Stefan cel Mare” public garden while the aged will take part in the actions prepared by the Government and the City Hall.
