The public association YMCA has donated a batch of 200 computers to the municipality. According to the Chisinau City Hall, the computers were distributed to social services and day centers of the General Division for the Protection of Children’s Rights, IPN reports.
“The computers will be used for educative purposes, to gain new knowledge, to find useful information and for recreational purposes, at social services and day centers, so as to assist children and young people, including Ukrainian refugees, in the formation and development of digital skills, stimulation of innovation, creativity and skills to select and use information,” noted the municipality.
The donation was made under the memorandum of cooperation between the Chisinau City Hall and the National Alliance YMCA. Based on the same memorandum, the National Alliance YMCA in February will donate 1,700 computers for educational institutions situated in the capital city and its suburbs.
The National Alliance YMCA Moldova provides and organizes cultural, social, educational, sports and environmental projects in cooperation with different institutions in a move to develop the digital sphere, to develop and improve accessibility to information and to create preconditions for modernizing and improving the efficiency of institutions.
