The session of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) has been postponed for the third time in a row. This time it was the initiative of the Communists faction, who announced they would not attend the sitting, only 5 minutes before its beginning, Info-Prim Neo reports. The councilors were to consider the situations of the water supplier SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, of the trolleybus fleet and the bus fleets, and other financial and land-related issues. “The Chisinau city hall has not prepared and has not presented us, in due time, the information necessary to discuss those issues and to adopt reasonable decisions. It's also impossible to discuss those issues because the city hall wants higher tariffs for water and for public conveyance,” councilor Valery Pavlov read out a statement of the Communists faction. The PL, PLDM and AMN factions from the CMC showed themselves certain that the Communists' refusal to attend the session was linked to Wednesday's election of the country president. The CMC session scheduled for May 28 was canceled because of no quorum. The same happened a week before. The May 22 sitting was not attended by the PCRM and PPCD councilors, while the sitting of May 28 -- by the councilors from the PL, PLDM and AMN. The CMC may be held with a quorum of at least 26 councilors from 51.
