Twenty-six Liberal, Liberal-Democratic and unaffiliated Chisinau councilors of the 36 attending the December 18 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council voted in favor of the merger between SA Termocom and the thermoelectric plants CET-1 and CET-2. They voted a series of amendments to the draft decision approved by the Government, by which they propose that Termocom should have a blocking shareholding in the new enterprise, IPN reports.

The amendments were proposed as the merger decision approved by the Government provides that 85% of the capital of the new enterprise, assessed at 1.68 billion lei, will be held by CET-2. CET-1 will own 12%, while Termocom – 2.25%.

The municipal councilors also suggested creating a commission that would monitor the process of merging the three enterprises.

The Government approved the draft merger decision on November 13.
