Chisinau councilors to get by 200 lei per sitting

The Chisinau councilors will get by 200 de lei for each attended sitting of the Municipal Council (CMC). Such a decision was adopted on Thursday, April 24, as the ayes had it, Info-Prim Neo reports. The move was launched by Moldova Noastra Alliance councilor Oleg Cernei. He reasoned on Easter’s eve, the councilors should vote for such a decision. This time, the proposal was voted without contradictory discussions. Earlier the CMC voted a decision providing for 400 per sitting day. Later, the CMC president, Mihai Ghimpu, cancelled the decision on reason there were certain irregularities. Another attempt to establish the amount failed later in March. Then the CMC did reach conseunsus as to the sum to be taken by a locally elected councilor. Since taking their mandates last summer, the municipal councilors have not yet taken their pays for working in the CMC.
