The meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council on March 14 was held in the building of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” and the councilors received by a bottle of water of the ACC brand. In a press release, the company says the councilors welcomed the water supplier’s initiative to carry out a campaign to inform society that running water is safe to drink and meets all the requirements, IPN reports.
ACC bottled 1,000 bottles of water of the brand “Apa-Canal Chisinau” within the campaign entitled “Created by nature, supplied by us” that was launched on March 1. This quantity represents 1 cubic meter of water for which the consumers in Chisinau municipality pay 8.06 lei. The bottling of 1,000 one-liter bottles cost the supplier over 4,000 lei. This sum does not include the transportation costs and remuneration of employees. Thus, a liter of bottled water costs 4.6 lei, while a liter of running water about 0.01 lei, given the current tariff of 8.06 lei. Tests show the running water is safe and is 460 times cheaper than the bottled one.
The 1,000 bottles of the brand “Apa-Canal Chisinau” are distributed to consumers who come to the company to pay the bills.
The campaign “Created by nature, supplied by us” is held during March 1 - March 22. Within it, the company will distribute the 1,000 bottles of water and informational brochures. On March 22, the Wastewater Treatment Station will host the Open Doors Day intended for all those who are interested in the water treatment process.
