The Cabinet approved the transfer of 15 million lei to the Chisinau Municipal Council for implementing court decisions concerning the paying of compensation for confiscated property to descendants of persons who were subject to political repression and were later rehabilitated, IPN reports.
A sum of only 7.5 million lei was planned in the 2018 state budget for paying such compensation. The difference will be covered with money from the Government’s reserve fund.
Under the 2018 state budget law, the Government’s reserve fund is of 50 million lei. In January, the Government decided to allocate 7.9 million lei from the reserve fund for making direct payments to the owners of farmland located beyond the Rybnitsa-Tiraspol road in Transnistria.
