The Chisinau councilors on July 24 approved changes to the municipal budget for this year. The revenues were raised by 26 million lei from state transfers and taxes, while the costs were increased by 34.7 million lei, IPN reports.
In the meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, General Finance Division head Olga Ursu presented a report on the fulfillment of the municipal budget in the first half of the year, noting almost 2 billion lei in revenues was collected by June 30.
“The municipal budget was 50.8% fulfilled. The expenditure represented 1.7 billion lei, which is 41.9% of the plan. The costs were the largest in education – 58%, social protection – 12%, public utilities – 8% and the culture, youth and sport sector – 4.2%. We also have debts of 260 million lei,” stated Olga Ursu.
