A number of 26 children from Chisinau, who remained without parental and who go to the first grade this year, on August 23 took part in the traditional meeting with representatives of the local and central public authorities staged by the municipal Children’s Rights Protection Division. As the previous years, each child received from the municipality a sum of money for covering education-related costs, IPN reports.
The event was held at the City Hall and started with the ringing of a bell and with congratulations offered by Lucia Caciuc, acting head of the Children’s Rights Protection Division, who wished the children success and good results at school.
The children, accompanied by guardians, also received schoolbags with notebooks, pencils, pens and other things that were bought with funds collected through the platform forum.md. They were also offered candies.
The municipal Children’s Rights Protection Division currently supervises 1,533 children who remained without parental care. Of these, 1,344 children were included in a family-type protection form, 441 were adopted, 870 were placed in tutelage services, 42 in family-type protection services, while 180 are in residential services.
