Chisinau City Hall staff changes

The interim mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu announced at the meeting on Monday, about some changes in the staff of the City Hall. The new head of the Local Public Administration Department is Ludmila Burlacu. Previously this position was held by Iulia Iesanu, who was dismissed on health grounds. Iulia Iesanu worked 12 years within the local public administration system and another 39 in the central administration. Vladmir Popovici was appointed to the office of Administrative Department’s head. The former head of this Department, Nicolae Manastarli works as interim secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council. Svetlana Frunze is the new head of the Public Relations Department and the new head of Mayor’s Council is Tudor Garbu. According to these changes, the head of the Petitions and Hearings Department is Rodica Tropotel. According to the responsible persons from the Public Relations Department, the aforementioned civil servants were appointed to their positions through the order of the General Interim Mayor. They were not selected through a contest, on the grounds that they are included in Mayor’s staff and according to the law in force he has the authority to appoint them. Personnel changes in the City Hall and in the subdivisions of Chisinau Municipal Council are performed according to a decision of the Municipal Council, which complies with a Governmental Decision.
