Chisinau City Hall organizes visit to zoo for children on Family Day

About 50 children from the suburbs of Chisinau whose parents are abroad go today on a visit to the Zoological Garden. The visit is organized by the Chisinau City Hall on the occasion of the Family Day, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is for the first time that we organize such an event. We want these children to have a special day,” said Chisinau councilor Liuba Vicol. “These children were left in the care of the grandparents or relatives who most often do not have time to dedicate a day to them.” Alexandra Ciumac, deputy head on education matters of the secondary school No. 99 in Truseni village, said that 45 of the 364 children who attend the school have their parents abroad. “Unfortunately, not all of them will be able to see the zoo today as the invitation is for 3-4 children only,” Alexandra Ciumac said. The children will also take part in the events dedicated to Europe Day in Chisinau. The Family Day marked on May 15 was included in the list of official holidays of Moldova. It was preceded this week by the Family Festival that took place in ten districts of the country. All the participants in the festival will come together in Chisinau’s central garden on Sunday, May 16.
