More than 100 schools and kindergartens in Chisinau will receive allocations from the municipal budget totaling over 14 million lei for paying the overdue and current public utility bills and covering other costs. An order to this effect was signed by acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu, IPN reports.
A sum of 8.522,7 million lei will be allotted to education institutions with a low number of students (with a negative balance) to pay the May-August and overdue heat, gas, water and sewerage bills. The money will be allocated from the centralized financial resources earmarked for the education process (5.550,5m lei) and for lyceums and specialized classes (2,922,7m lei).
From the funds planned for supplementing particular costs of the institutions with special regime and other costs, over 60 kindergartens will get 5.299,3 million lei, while two secondary schools will receive 245,000 lei.
The General Finance Division of the Chisinau City Hall will formulate the relevant changes to the 2018 municipal budget so that the order could be implemented.
