Chisinau City Hall has three new division heads

Chisinau Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca appointed three new heads of general divisions that up to now were run by interim directors. All the three new heads are members of the Liberal Party and were designated according to political criteria, the mayor said. Dionisie Boaghe, who was Criuleni district councilor, was appointed as head of the General Housing-Communal Division, which was headed by Petru Gontea until present. Earlier, the Chisinau Municipal Council rejected the candidacy of Dionisie Boaghe, who was firstly proposed for the post of deputy mayor of Chisinau. Dorin Chirtoaca also discussed his candidacy with the councillors when he was to announce the heads of Chisinau’s districts. In the end, he named him division head. Mihai Moldovan will head the Health Division instead of Iurie Bucinschi, who held the post on an interim basis. Vasile Panfil was named head of the Constructions Division, which was previously headed by Ion Dermengi. Seriu Polihiovici, head of the Mayor General’s Office, told Info-Prim Neo that the appointment of division heads is the prerogative of the Mayor General, and the Chisinau Municipal Council does not have to examine the candidates. He also said that under the legislation, the three former interim heads can take over the posts held in the City Hall before acting as interims.
