The Chisinau City Hall has facilitated the process of registering children with special educational needs (SEN) in the first grade. The school district set for the enrollment of these children in school will no longer be taken into account. The goal is to ensure that these children have appropriate educational opportunities and that they are enrolled at the school that is the best suited to their specific needs, IPN reports.
“We are committed to ensuring an inclusive and equitable educational environment for all children, and this change reflects our commitment to provide appropriate support and resources for their harmonious development,” reads a press release.
Over 10,400 children from Chisinau municipality are to be enrolled in the first grade for the 2024-2025 school year. They will be assigned to 386 classes, in the 139 public primary and secondary educational institutions, cycle I and II. On the first day of the period of registering children in the first grade, 3,121 applications were submitted through the platform escoala.chisinau.md.
