The Great National Assembly Square will be closed for vehicle traffic to accommodate New Year’s Eve festivities starting 8:00PM.
Patrol Police chief Livi Baziuc told a press conference on Friday that people willing to come to the show by car will be able to park along Columna Street, between the streets Bodoni and Pushkin; on Veronica Micle Street and 31 August Street, between the streets Maria Cebotari and Bănulescu Bodoni; on Mihai Eminescu Street and Pushkin Street, between Stefan cel Mare Blvd and Columna Street.
The traditional New Year’s Eve will start on 10:00 PM and will have a line-up composed of folk and pop singers. The New Year will be marked with a fireworks display. The concert will last until 2:00AM.
Baziuc warned motorists not to consume alcohol as the police will be particularly watchful. Extra patrols will be deployed on New Year’s Eve.
