Acting mayor general of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said he will sign orders to discharge Octavian Bivol and Victor Gutium from the posts of director and vice director of the Central Market of Chisinau and will seek the dismissal of Sergiu Borozan from the post of chief architect of the capital city, IPN reports.

According to Ruslan Codreanu, last week he received a petition by which business entities that operate at the Central Market complained that informal taxes are being collected from them and that a selective approach is adopted towards some of them.

The official said the territory of the Central Market should be arranged so that this becomes a tourist attraction and has parking places, while the products sold there should not be higher than at supermarkets. “The higher prices are due to the fact that informal taxes are collected there and the people have to survive somehow,” stated Ruslan Codreanu.

As to the Architecture Division, the official said he is dissatisfied with the work done by Sergiu Borozan. “It is the year 2019, but we have the situation when people go to the second floor of the Architecture Division and queue up for an audience. To all my requests to the Division to introduce an online registration system, they said there is the Information Center where one can go and file an application. But the person should anyway run on corridors afterward,” stated Ruslan Codreanu.

Sergiu Borozan was named the chief architect of the municipality of Chisinau by order of former mayor Dorin Chirtoacă in May 2017, as a result of a public contest. Earlier, Sergiu Borozan had served as acting head of the Division for over eight months.
