The contract to buy 31 Isuzu transit buses, following the announcement of the winning bid on February 8, was signed today between the Chisinau Bus Company and the company Unipay Danişmanlik Yazilim Teknolojileri Ltd. The city budget has allocated 78 million lei for this purpose.
The first 25 vehicles are due to arrive in two weeks’ time. The remainder will join the municipal fleet within 60 days from signing. The contract requires the municipality to make the payment within 30 days from the delivery.
“We have the guarantee of the dealership that the buses are brand new, manufactured in 2017-2018, as claimed by the submitted bid”, said CBC manager Vitalie Copaci.
Serghei Daradur, representative of the dealership, said the price proposal offered to CBC was better than the prices offered to other countries. “The model was sold to Romania, Azerbaijan and the Baltic States for 150-200,000 euros apiece, compared to 130,000 euros for Moldova”, said Daradur.
The model is Isuzu Citiport, a Euro 6 diesel, three-door transit bus. The 12 meters long vehicle features low floors, ramps and space to accommodate wheelchairs for greater accessibility to people with disabilities and parents with baby transport. The buses also come with air conditioning, audiovisual announcement equipment and four ventilation windows.
