Chisinau authorities will organise events to celebrate 100th death anniversary of architect Bernardazzi

In the middle of August there will be 100 years from the decease of architect Bernardazzi. On this occasion, several events will take place in the capital until then. Among those activities there can be mentioned the issue of post stamps with the image of the architect, the issue of an album comprising the works of Bernardazzi, the decoration of Bernardazzi Street, the reparation of the buildings designed by the architect and the opening of a museum inside one of these buildings. According to a press release from the local administration, a work group has been created to accomplish these activities. This group is composed of specialists from the City Hall and Chisinau Municipal Council, members of Moldova Academy of Science, representatives of the Association of Architects, representatives of the Union of Plastic Artists and the Union of Moldovan Designers. At the same time, the municipal authorities call on the representatives of civil society that would be interested in contributing to the promotion of the name and works of the eminent architect to make proposals to the General Architecture Division to celebrate the event. Architect Alexandru Bernardazzi is the first honorary citizen of Chisinau City. He designed and built 47 unique edifices which entered the national architectural patrimony. On August 14 Chisinau will commemorate his 100th death anniversary.
