The Chisinau administration will invest 81.5 million lei in the local infrastructure by the end of this year. 21 million lei of this will be used for major repairs, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under a decision made by the Chisinau Municipal Council, the construction of the school in Condrita village, the apartment building situated on Liviu Deleanu St and the section between the streets Studentilor, Mircea cel Batran and M. Sadoveanu is projected to be finished this year. There will be built aqueducts, gas pipelines and sewerage systems in Bubuieci, Cruzesti, Colonita and Bacioi communes and on a number of streets in Chisinau. A sum of 19 million lei will be allocated from the municipal budget and 30 million lei from the road fund for road repair. “This money will go only on maintenance works, i.e to stop up the holes on the streets,” said the head of the General Division of Public Transport and Communications Veaceslav Tarna. Communist councilor Valery Pavlov did not fully agree with the Council’s decision on capital investment in 2010. He said many of the projects do not have an expenditure estimate and financial backing, while the sum planned for repairing roads is too low. Democrat councilor Emil Gutu suggested earmarking more money for installing new traffic lights at least next year. According to the Chisinau councilors, the about 80 million lei allocated for capital investments cover only 10% of the necessities.
