Chisinau authorities increase school meal allocations

The allocation for one school meal in Chisinau has been increased by one leu from 6.5 lei to 7.5 lei under a decision by the Chisinau Municipal Council, Info-Prim Neo reports. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the head of the municipal Education Division, welcomed this increase, but admitted it wasn’t enough. “I wish it was more, because 7.5 lei for a breakfast is too little. However, I’m glad the idea of increasing the school meal allocations was considered”, she said. Additional financing sources will be looked for, as provided with the finance division. “We understand there is a budget deficit and a lack of sources, but we think the situation will improve”, she added.
