The national carrier Air Moldova, together with another three airlines, will operate regular Chisinau-Antalya flights from next week. The passengers who bought tickets for this destination for the flights of the Turkish company Sky Airlines will be able to use them, Tourism Agency director Nicolae Platon told a news conference, quoted by IPN.

Several days ago, Sky Airlines cancelled the Chisinau-Antalya flights owing to financial problems. It is not yet known if the Turkish airline became insolvent or was recognized as bankrupt. Nicolae Platon said that the contract with Moldova hasn’t been annulled yet and the company can resume the flights at any time.

According to Nicolae Platon, the Turkish company informed about the cancelation of the June 3 flight one hour before it and 340 passengers remained in the airport. The tour operators had to place the tourists at hotels in Chisinau, and, respectively, in Antalya. They intend to sue the airline for breaking the regulations as the announcement about the cancelation of the flight was to be made at least 24 hours beforehand.

Nicolae Platon added that the Chisinau-Antalya flights will be nocturnal and will be operated by Air Moldova, Moldavian Airlines, Turkish Airline, and Atlasjet. Fifteen flights will be provided to Antalya weekly.
