Chisinau and Moscow local authorities to exchange land and buildings

The City Hall of Chisinau and the Government of Moscow will exchange plots of land and buildings under a cooperation project between the local administrations of the two cities for 2008 – 2010. This fact was decided during a meeting between Mayor of Chisinau and the delegation of Moscow authorities, headed by Boris Silaev, deputy director of Moscow’s Foreign Relations Department. Under the agreement, Chisinau will provide to the Government of Moscow a building and in exchange it will receive a plot for the construction of several stores in Moscow, where Moldovan goods will be sold. During the meeting, the parties discussed aspects related to the Cooperation Programme between the City Hall of Chisinau and the Government of Moscow for 2008 – 2010, which will be examined by the Chisinau Municipal Council and will be signed at the beginning of September by the mayors of the two cities. Boris Silaev handed to Dorin Chirtoaca the invitation of Moscow Mayor Iuri Lujkov to visit the Russian Federation on the occasion of Moscow’s 860th anniversary. The visit agenda of the officials from Moscow includes the examination of the issue on opening in Moldova the Cultural-economic Centre “Home of Moscow”.
