The Chisinau International Airport signed a contract with a consultancy company, which will help it draw up the documents needed for organizing a tender contest to select the private partner that will construct a parking garage near the airport.
The announcement was made by the head of the Economy Ministry’s Public Property Agency Tudor Copaci in a news conference. The documents will be ready in a month. The contest will be announced afterward, Info-Prim Neo reports.
As to another public-private partnership to create imagistic and radiotherapy services at the National Hospital, Tudor Copaci said the International Finance Corporation already published the announcement concerning the selection of the private partner on its website.
He also said that the public-private partnerships are based on mutually advantageous conditions. In order to ensure the functionality of such forms of investment in the national economy, the integrity of the public investments should be guaranteed.
Last year, the national legislation on the public-private partnerships was adjusted to the European one. Five local public administrations benefited from expert assistance in identifying and formulating public-private partnership projects. In the municipality of Balti and in Orhei town, there were initiated public-private partnership projects to erect apartment buildings and set up the necessary infrastructure. Other similar projects are yet to be launched.
Tudor Copaci said they are analyzing a public-private partnership aimed at creating an ionization technology center in Moldova and a computed tomography center at the Orhei district hospital. “It is important to identify a balance between the risks and benefits in such partnerships, this being the key to these projects’ success,” he stated.
