The local authorities of Chisinau are considering several places where the stage for the concert given on the City’s Day on October 14 could be put up. As the Great National Assembly Square was occupied by protesters, the traditional concert could be held in the square before the Metropolitan Cathedral, on the pedestrian street or in the square of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”, IPN reports.
The subject was discussed in the September 28 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions. “We will also move the stage, as the protesters move through the city with tents. Today in the Square, tomorrow before the Parliament Building and the day after tomorrow at the Ministry of Agriculture. We will place the stage where there will be free place. It’s hard to anticipate as the situation changes daily,” said Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca.
The Festival of Ethnic Communities will be staged in the central park of Chisinau “Stefan cel Mare” also on October 14. The local authorities are to invite representatives of the ethnic groups to discussions so as to agree the program of festivities.
