Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, in the ordinary meeting of City Hall officials, warned his colleagues that criminal cases may be started against some of them, IPN reports.
“I urge you to be more attentive to what you do and how you do because there may be instituted criminal or administrative proceedings against you. Situations of abuse are not excluded,” stated the mayor.
The statement was made after a number of functionaries were called to the Prosecutor’s Office following the demolition of a construction on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. in Chisinau.
“But things cannot stand as they stand. Unauthorized construction on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. which is the main artery of Chisinau and the country. Instead of taking decisions to punish the company and to take the construction away, the City Hall’s employees are called to the Prosecutor’s Office to provide explanations,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
He asked the district heads every Monday to provide information about the unauthorized constructions existing in every district and what measures were taken in every case.
