MP Chiril Moţpan, chairman of the Parliament's Commission for National Security, Defence and Public Order, says that some PDM leaders' allegations that he had put pressure on a Democratic activist to join the ACUM Bloc, as well as to persuade other mayors to do the same, in exchange for retaining his position, seem "strange". According to the MP, ACUM does not have the right to force anyone, each one decides what to do on his own and "ACUM will never do what PDM did", IPN reports.

At a press conference, Chiril Moţpan, stated that the PDM members keep denying the reality. "The so-called democrats seem to have forgotten the criminal actions, blackmail, intimidation, criminal cases which forced hundreds of mayors, members of other parties, to declare themselves supporters of the criminal group. In this group there were also some people who enjoyed authority in their settlements. Many of them have decided to release themselves out of its deadly embrace and serve the interests of the citizens who voted for them," argued Chiril Moţpan.

He says he had a meeting with Veaceslav Bîstrițchi and the five mayors mentioned in the Democrats' statements, only he did not force them to take any illegal actions and did not compel them to demonstrate their loyalty.

The MP states that, as chairman of the National Security, Defence and Public Order Commission, he received a letter that was not signed. The letter mentions that former Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan and former IGP Chief Alexandru Pînzari, in 2016-2018, through a raider attack, took over Tirex-Petrol company, which is now managed by Alexandru Jizdan’ s close relatives, the parliamentarian specified.

According to Chiril Moţpan, "a sample of PDM involvement" can be found in the village of Feștelita, Stefan Voda district, where over 80 children are required to practice outdoors, because the mayor, who is a member of the PDM, has closed the Cultural Centre and does not allow children to attend dance classes there. The MP says he has appealed to the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, and made a request to the prosecutor’s office in Stefan Vodă that this case be settled in the interests of the children.

Alexandru Cernean, teacher at "Maria Bieșu" School of Arts in Stefan Voda, Feștelița branch, argues that the conflict with the mayor goes back a while, and that a week before the elections he took the key from the dance hall of the Cultural Centre under the pretext that there would be carried out electoral activities on the elections day and the premises must be prepared. After the elections, the key was not returned.

At a press conference on Thursday, October 24, the PDM secretary general, Alexandru Jizdan, has said that the PDM members have been and still are blackmailed that, if they do not join the parties in power, they will be removed from their positions. In this context he pointed to a PDM promoter, director of "Anenii Noi Gaz" company, Veaceslav Bîstrițchi, who was asked to resign because "he is one of the most active members of the PDM, he actively participated in the election campaigns and helped PDM obtain a good score in the elections”. According to Alexandru Jizdan, the Democratic activist was coerced to leave the PDM and join the ACUM Bloc. He was also asked to persuade others to do the same. Alexandru Jizdan said that in this process, the chairman of the National Security, Defence and Public Order Commission, Chiril Moţpan was involved.
