The ensemble Shenzhen Aihua delighted the public in Chisinau at a performance of different styles of music, including musical innovations, performed with Chinese traditional musical instruments at the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” on March 5. The concert, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Embassy of China in Chisinau, was held as part of the International Music Festival “Martsishor”, IPN reports.

Attending the event, China’s Ambassador Zhang Yinghong said the International Music Festival “Martsishor” is one of the greatest cultural events in Moldova, which provides a platform for the exchange of cultural and artistic values with countries from all over the world. During many years, Chinese artistic ensembles took part in this festival and offered the Moldovan public a unique cultural performance that became an illuminating point for Chinese-Moldovan cultural exchanges and contributed to the reciprocal familiarization and improvement of the relations between the two nations.

“China and Moldova are good friends and partners and the cultural and artistic exchanges have always been connections that established ties of friendship between the people of our countries. In the context of the concomitant development of China and Moldova, the advancing of the relations between the two nations will be a new impetus to the extension of the Chinese-Moldovan relations and of cooperation in different areas,” stated Ambassador Zhang Yinghong.

Andrei Chistol, secretary of state at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, said ensembles from China took part in one of the most prestigious music festivals in Moldova, “Martsishor”, for many times. It is definite that such cultural exchanges are needed. The official handed over the trophy of the International Music Festival “Martsishor”, which is intended for foreign participants, to the Chinese ensemble. “I’m glad that today, through the agency of all those who take part in this extraordinary concert, we enrich ourselves again,” stated Andrei Chistol.

The members of Shenzhen Aihua performed popular traditional Chinese songs and also the Moldovan folk music song “A Rose from Moldova”. On March 6, the ensemble will perform in Anenii Noi.

The Shenzhen Aihua Chinese Music Ensemble was created in 2006, with Huang Qicheng as an artistic director. This is a famous Chinese dancer and director, national first-class performer and actor.
