Moldova will consider the possibility of facilitating the visa regime for Chinese businesspeople. The subject was discussed by Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac and his Chinese counterpart Jiang Zengwei in the sixth meeting of the Moldovan-Chinese intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, IPN reports.

Octavian Calmac told a news conference that the discussions they had with representatives of the Chinese executive centered on extention of the commercial-economic relations between the two states and the prospects of developing cooperation in industry, agriculture, the food industry, healthcare and tourism. They also discussed the cooperation in the energy sector. The officials agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in winemaking and considered the possibility of abolishing visas for certain groups of tourists.

Octavian Calmac called on the businesspeople of China to take part in the privatization process in Moldova through the agency of the Stock Exchange and by different investment projects.

Jiang Zengwei said that both China and Moldova are at a historical stage of economic development and this enables them to actively take part in the integration into the world economy. Also, Moldova and China have common views on the growth trends within the Moldovan – Chinese cooperation in economy and trade. There are very good preconditions for cooperation and this meets the interests of the citizens of the two states.
