The people who came to celebrate Chisinau Day to the center of the city were pleased by the program of events organized on this occasion, despite the cool weather. Those who braved out the low temperatures and the drizzle partied heartily, danced and enjoyed the barbeques and other delicacies abounding at the stalls. “This is great! You can really feel the holiday spirit. I enjoy the folk music, which reminds us that we are in Moldova. It's good that we don't forget our traditions. There are also many tourists who seem to enjoy all this”, said a woman named Elena. Fiodor, another participant in the celebrations, was impressed by the big number of “original” stalls along Stefan cel Mare Boulevard offering various “autumn goods”. He added that he was hoping the crowd would get thicker by the evening and it would be “more fun”. “The city is dressed for holiday fun. There are a lot of people here and everybody is having a great time”, said Feodosia, adding that she was enjoying herself too, even if the weather was cooler than in previous years. Carolina says she came downtown because this is where all the merrymaking is concentrated. The young woman said she would have stayed all day long to party together with the friends if it wasn't for the bitter weather. According to official information, last year more than 60,000 people participated in the celebrations held in the Great National Assembly Square on City Day.
