Children’s Day celebrated extensively in Chisinau

The children from Chisinau and the guests of the capital city can enjoy a wide recreational program organized by the authorities on the International Children’s Day. Poetry recitals, song contests, sports competitions, drawing, asphalt drawing and face painting contests, exhibitions of handmade objects and handicrafts, games and draws are staged in the center of Chisinau and in districts. On June 1, children can enter the Zoological Garden in Chisinau free of charge, IPN reports.

President Igor Dodon transmitted a message on the occasion of the International Children’s Day. “The children are the biggest treasure of a nation. The responsibly of the adults resides in the education and protection of the future generation, creation of the best conditions for them to grow harmoniously, in the family, guided towards achieving their aspirations. On this day, I want to wish our children health, happiness and prosperity. Let’s enjoy and relish the pleasure of affection and care for what we have the most precious – the children of the Republic of Moldova. I wish you a joyful, colored summer full of adventures and special emotions,” says the message.

Also today, the EU Delegation to Moldova on the Zimbru Stadium stages a football tournament that is traditionally held on Europe Day. The subdivisions of the Ministry of the Interior celebrate the International Children’s Day on the Dinamo Stadium. The event consists of an artistic program of songs and dances, recreational-sports contests and technical exhibitions of the subdivisions.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the children in Moldova on January 1, 2019 totaled 669,600, which is each fifth person was younger than 18.
