A day center for children with disabilities called “Phoenix” was inaugurated in Rascani town today, September 19. This is a new center of social inclusion services that will be attended by children five times a week, IPN reports.

The center has the capacity to provide social inclusion services for 35 children with limited abilities and for ten children with more serious disabilities. The early intervention center can offer assistance to about 400 children a year.

The children with disabilities will be brought to the center five times a week. They will be involved in a series of intellectual and recreational activities, will learn to sew, crochet and to process wood and will study English and the computer.

Another ten beneficiaries with much more complex needs will be taken to the center two times a week. All the center’s buildings will be adjusted and equipped according to the needs of persons with disabilities.

The idea of founding the center “Phoenix” was put forward by the British association MAD-Aid and a Moldovan woman who settled in the UK.
