The hall of the Government Building Tuesday housed an exhibition and sale of works made by children of 20 national schools. The event was staged on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is marked on December 3. The exhibit included greetings, crocheted and embroidered items and wooden objects, IPN reports.
Fourth grader Victoria made flowers from beads and fir trees from macaroni. She said she had enough buyers and she will use the proceeds to buy o materials and to make other Christmas decorations. Teacher Natalia Voino said it is hard to work with beads and the children make a lot of effort and need great patience to make them.
Ecaterina, of the Chisinau community center for children and young people with disabilities, said she likes crocheting and knitting and wants to make a job of this. She exhibited scarves, hats, knitted flowers and other accessories.
Children of the Christian Souvenirs Training Center displayed wooden icons on which they worked for several months, said priest Anatolie Garbu.
This is the second exhibition of the kind mounted in the Government Building. There are over 183,000 persons with disabilities in Moldova.
