“Children of the Prut” campaign to be launched

The Association of Bessarabian Young People in Iasi is launching a campaign themed “Children of the Prut” to bring closer the children and the young persons living on the banks of the Prut. The campaign will start on May 29 and will last by June 1, when it is celebrated the International Children's Day, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We think the young people can be united through culture first of all and want to revive the passion for reading, which is a needed activity that is not very practices lately,” the organizers say in a press release. The Association aims to promote young talents, stimulate civic involvement from an early age and support the democratic values and initiatives by engaging the children in cultural events. According to the program of the campaign, books for children will be collected in Iasi's Exhibition Park on May 29 and 30. The schools, kindergartens and libraries in Iaisi will be invited to donate books for children. A charity concert will be given on June 1 by the Cantores Amicitiae Choir, conducted by Nicolae Gasca, and the percussion ensemble Alternances headed by Florian Simion.
