Children learn to prevent drownings

Children of the Balti-based secondary school No. 7 of were trained to prevent drownings when falling under thin ice in lakes and ponds. The training session was staged by frogmen of the Search and Rescue Department No. 2 of the Emergencies Service, IPN reports.

The specialists told the children about the risk of falling under ice and the main measures that must be taken in such a case. The students simulated situations in which they saved mates.

Last week, a group of children from the capital city had a practical lesson at the Security School of Chisinau. They were taught to prevent accidents among kids and were familiarized with the life security foundations.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, two persons died after failing under the ice of lakes in Moldova so far this year.
