The ombudswoman for children's rights warns about cases of involvement of children in the election campaign. According to Tamara Plamadeala, more and more children are engaged in the distribution of leaflets and election posters, wearing clothes with the symbols of the election runners, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is not right to involve the children in political activities as they are exposed to different dangers . The children are not supervised by adults when they go to stick posters and spread booklets and can be physically and psychologically abused by third persons,” it is said in a communique from the Center for Human Rights, which is the institution of the ombudspersons. Tamara Plamadeala said Article 13 of the Law on the Rights of the Child bans the engagement of children in political activities and their association with political parties. Thus, the ombudswoman lodged an application with the Central Election Commission, suggesting warning all the election contenders not to allow such actions that are against the law.
