The 150 children who attend the kindergarten in Sipoteni village of Călărași district have now better conditions at their nursery school that was renovated with funds provided by the Government of Romania for improving the education conditions for Moldovan children. Repair works were performed inside the kindergarten and in its yard, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

In the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Pavel Filip underlined the importance of investing in creating modern conditions and ensuring the safety of children, noting education is a priory of the executive. “We should all realize that a state does not mean the Government, Parliament and President. A state represents the citizens who live here. Those who do not take care of education, make investments in other areas in vain as they do not offer a future to this country. The children are those for whom the Government works and we will continue to invest in education,” stated the Premier.

He thanked the Government of Romania for the assistance offered in implementing the project. The kindergarten in Sipoteni received 9 million lei from the Romanian state. In gratitude for the constant support provided to our country, Pavel Filip gave a coin dedicated to the Great Union Centenary that was issued by the National Bank of Moldova to Romania’s ambassador as a present.

For his part, Ambassador Daniel Ioniță said the Government of Romania is ready to further support projects aimed at educating a generation that will take Moldova to the European Union.

Almost 850 kindergartens were renovated as part of the program of technical and financial assistance provided by the Government of Romania for Moldovan preschool education institutions. A sum of €26 million was allocated for the purpose.
