Twenty-one children from the boarding school in Straseni learn to make one-minute films about their problems and the things they want to change in their family, school and the community as part of a video workshop titled “One Minute Junior”, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The children learn to write scripts, film and edit their productions that will be shown to grownups in the country and abroad with the aim of improving their lives,” said Lina Botnaru, spokeswoman for the Representative Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Moldova, which supports this project.
“One Minute Junior” is designed to promote children’s views. Children aged between 11 and 16 are participating in the workshop. The films will be shown at a regional conference in Chisinau in November. It will be held to mark 20 years of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The trainers are from Europe. The films will be translated into English and disseminated worldwide through the Internet, Lina Botnaru said.
