The children aged two could be enrolled at preschool education institutions. Now the children are admitted to kindergartens at the age of three. A bill to amend the Election Code was drafted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and was placed for public debates on particip.gov.md, IPN reports.
An analysis showed that over 17,000 children younger than three have been annually enrolled at preschool education institutions during the past five years. About 20,000 children of this age yearly remain outside the education process.
At the same time, the demand for early education services for children younger than three is currently higher owing mainly to the willingness of young mothers to return to work. According to the Ministry, about 778 early education institutions of Moldova, which is almost half of the kindergartens, constituted or plan to constitute crèche groups intended for children under the age of three.
In 2019 the project will be implemented with budget allocations for about 50% of the children aged between two and three. In the future, the financing for such services designed for this age bracket will be extended based on the early education services development program.
