The childbirth allowance next year is expected to be higher. A bill proposed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection for public debates provides that this single benefit will be increased from 9,459 lei to 10,068 lei, IPN reports.
The authorities said such a move is a priority of the Government’s program entitled “Moldova of Good Times”. One of the general development objectives is to raise the childbirth allowance so as to pursue a broad policy of support in favor of families with children.
The financial resources needed for the purpose were earmarked by the 2022 draft state budget law.
It is estimated that about 36,245 women will benefit from the childbirth allowance in 2022.
