The lump-sum allowance paid at the birth of the first child will be 2,300 lei, while at the birth of every next child – 2,600 lei, both for medically insured and medically uninsured persons. The Government approved a relevant amendment to the regulations concerning the method of setting and paying allowances, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said a sum of 13.3 million lei was planned for the purpose. From January 1, 2012, the monthly benefit for looking after adopted children and children under guardianship will rise by 100 lei to 600 lei per child. As many as 7,157 orphans or children who remained without parental care and are under guardianship and 2,512 adopted children who live in Moldova on a permanent basis will benefit from such allowances. A sum of 6.95 million lei was earmarked in the state social insurance budget for covering the related costs. The executive also increased the annual compensations for transporting persons with locomotor disabilities by 100 lei per beneficiary. Thus, the compensation will be 500 lei a year. In 2012, this compensation will be provided to 7,650 persons. An additional 765,000 lei was budgeted for the purpose.
