Child survives fall from 4th floor

On Wednesday, in the evening, 9 year old child survived a fall from the 4th floor of an apartment building on Dacia Avenue in Chisinau. The boy was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of V.Ignatenco Hospital. According to the doctors, he is stable now. Oleg Chetraru, head of the intensive care unit, told Info-Prim Neo that the boy had suffered a severe associated traumatism and a head injury. The patient is now stable and has been moved to the neurosurgery unit. The doctors were initially worried the boy could have some internal injuries, but their suspicions proved wrong. Most likely, he fell on the branches of a tree that slowed his fall and saved his life. The boy probably tried to reach a branch from his balcony, lost his balance and fell.
