A boy aged eight was taken to the hospital in an extremely serious condition after he ate poisonous mushrooms and received no medical care during four days. The doctors cannot say what the child’s chances of survival are.

Eva Gudumac, head of the Pediatric Surgery Section of the Mother and Child Center, has told IPN that the boy is from Orhei. According to the parents, he didn’t tell them that he felt sick. “He had nausea and diarrhea, but the parents said that he hid this from them. He was brought to the hospital only when the parents saw that he was apathetic and was bleeding from the nose,” said the doctor.

She also said that the parents also ate mushrooms, but didn’t poison themselves. The children are more exposed to such a risk. Furthermore, the child seems to be suffering from stunted growth as he looks as if he is five.

Doctors warn the parents to be attentive to the children’s symptoms. Medical assistance must be south in case of nausea after eating mushrooms.
