A boy aged four, who remained home alone, was rushed to the hospital after falling from the sixth floor of an apartment building situated in Rascani district of Chisinau.
Contacted by IPN, Natalia Stati, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division, said the incident happened at about 10:30pm on March 8. The parents told the police that they went to the shop together with another couple, leaving the child to watch animated cartoons.
The circumstances of the incident are yet to be found out. A criminal case was started against the parents. These face a fine of up to 27,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in jail.
Press officer of the Municipal Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenco” Tatiana Stoichev said the boy was admitted to the intensive care section in a serious state. His condition is now stable. He suffered abdominal trauma.
At the start of last week, a child aged one year and eight months fell from the third floor of an apartment building. He suffered abdominal trauma and multiple fractures. The boy was operated on both arms. His state of health is now satisfactory.
