An 11-year-child from Florești district drowned in a pond while fishing on May 19, IPN reports.
General Police Inspectorate press officer Mariana Bețivu has told IPN that the boy told his father that he goes fishing at about 6am in the morning. Eyewitnesses said the boy in the afternoon entered the lake to recover the fishing rod he dropped in the water, but could not swim back to the bank. Several adults who were fishing nearby took the dead body out of the water.
The pond is rented and fishing there is for money. Swimming in the pond is banned.
