Child drinks substance against Colorado beetles

A girl aged 1 year and 4 months was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after she drank a chemical substance used to kill Colorado potato beetles. Liviu Vovc, director of the Chisinau Emergency Hospital, has told Info-Prim Neo that the girl found the bottle with insecticide and drank about 10 grams of solution. The child was admitted to the Mother and Child Hospital for detox. A 24-year-old man hanged himself. He was found in his home located on Ismail Street. On the same day, three young men aged 20, 22 and, respectively, 26, cut their veins while under the influence of alcohol. The cases happened in different places, at different hours. A 40-year-old Turkish man took pills to kill himself. He was taken to Saint Trinity Hospital for detox. A man aged 28 was struck by a motorbike under a bridge in Telecentru district of Chisinau. He suffered multiple traumas and was rushed to the Emergency Hospital. A Chisinau woman was admitted to the infectious diseases hospital “Toma Ciorba” as she is suspected of getting the A(H1N1) flu virus. The woman came into contact with her daughter who returned from Bulgaria. On Sunday, the Chisinau ambulance doctors recorded 738 calls, dealing with 18 deliveries and five strokes.
