Child dies in Ciorescu kindergarten

A child aged 3 years and 10 months died this morning in the kindergarten from Ciorescu village of Chisinau municipality. Asked by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Ciorescu Health Center, Dumitru Palamarciuc, says most probably the death happened because the child was running high temperature. He had no high temperature when he was brought by his elder brother to the kindergarten in the morning. At about 8.30 the little boy started to complain about pains in his head and stomach. Phoned doctors told the educator to give the child pills to decrease his temperature, but when they arrived at about 10 a.m., all they could do was to state the death. “We suppose the child had a convulsive febrile syndrome. The child had fever and heart problems because of the high temperature,” said Dumitru Palamarciuc. According to the doctor, the little boy had had such instances, but his parents had said the boy did not complain of any health problems. Tatiana Botnaru, an advisor with the Education Division of Chisinau, has told Info-Prim Neo a team of medics are investigating the case in the Ciorescu kindergarten. The legal medical examiners are to establish the exact causes of the death.
