A child aged one year and four months from Durlești town of the municipality of Chisinau died crushed under a TV set that fell over. Natalia Stati, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division, has told IPN that the Buiucani Police Inspectorate was informed about this case by doctors.
The child was playing in the room under the supervision of grownups. He pulled the drawer of a nightstand on which the TV set stood. This became unsteady and fell over the child. Even if the adults were in the same room, they could not avoid the impact. The child was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved.
The parents are warned to make sure there are no unfixed objects within the children’s reach as these pose a real threat to the safety of children.
