The General Police Inspectorate said an internal inquiry was lunched in connection with the accusations made against police officers from Straseni over the murder of the 14-year-old girl. A number of officials were suspended from posts, including the chief of the Straseni Police Inspectorate, head of the Public Order Division, head of the Criminal Police Service and sector officer of the Straseni Police Inspectorate who dealt with this case, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the inquiry will show if the police officers of the Straseni Police Inspectorate fulfilled their duties promptly and appropriately.

A teen aged 14 was found dead in an unfinished building in Straseni town on November 30. The girl’s mother told the police that her daughter went mission on November 25. Two of the murder suspects were arrested. Another suspect was identified, but hasn’t been yet detained, while the fourth suspect cannot be prosecuted because he is only 13.
