Two men found on the streets in Chisinau were hospitalized with general hypothermia.
Silvia Babara, coordinating doctor of the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that one of the men aged 35 was found at a trolleybus station on Petru Zadnipru St in Ciocana district, while the second man aged 50 on Mircea cel Batran St in the same district.
Severe frost and temperatures of minus 5 – 7 degrees Celsius are forecast for the coming days. Silvia Babara said in order to avoid chilblains, one should protect the cheeks, nose, ears, fingers and toes that are sensitive to frost. If a chilblain appears, the place must be heated up with warm water. A doctor should be seen immediately.
At the same time, the clothes can prevent the body from losing warmth. It is recommended wearing several layers of clothing as they keep the warmth better and avoiding drinking alcoholic drinks that favor the lowering of the body temperature.
Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Emergency Service recorded 764 calls. It dealt with 53 cases of acute viral infection, 40 cases of flu, 34 cases of pneumonia, 67 cases of trauma and two strokes.
